Hervey Bay has an abundance of water sports, shopping, restaurants and attractions. For the more serious minded sports person there are golf courses, tennis courts, squash courts and seven bowling greens. Water sports available to tourists include; sailing, windsurfing, water skiing, jet skiing, parasailing, power boating , diving and snorkeling.

Fraser Gateway is located in the heart of Hervey Bay close to everything a guest could ask for. Fraser Gateway is the closest motel to the huge RSL club. The club boasts a Bistro, cafe, four comfortable bars with club priced drinks, and gaming rooms.

 Fraser Gateway is walking distance to two of Hervey Bay's major shopping centres, and an abundance of cafes and shops on Main St and Boat Habour Drive. 

 

The 868 metre long jetty at Urangan is one of Hervey Bay's icons. Hervey Bay is famous for it's whale watching, for the months of July to October. Humpback whales play with their young calves in the warm waters sheltered by Fraser Island, before they continue on their journey south to the Antarctic. Turtles and Dugongs can also be seen, along with dolphins swimming around the viewing boats.

 

 How to Get Here

Flights to Hervey Bay are available through Jetstar and Virgin Blue direct from Sydney and Melbourne to Hervey Bay.

 

Hervey Bay is only 3 1/2 hours drive north of Brisbane. The Bruce Highway runs by this region making it easily accessible by private or hire vehicle.

Regular  coach services are available to Maryborough and Hervey Bay with Greyhound - Pioneer and McCafferty's Coaches from any location within Queensland. Fraser Gateway is walking distance from the major Bus terminal.
